I congratulate you on your decision to make career in engineering field. At the outset let me inform that engineering is an application of your learning (knowledge and skills) in technology. For effective learning you need to understand basic concepts and principles involved in technology. Considering the impact of globalization and competitive world, JPC faculty and staff are being trained on a continuous basis in curriculum development and analysis of each subject, its concepts, principles and applications. Learning packages based on psychology of learning and subject matter analysis are prepared for easy understanding. We also prepare multimedia learning packages for students in different subject areas. These multimedia teaching-learning packages help both teachers and students in making learning very effective. I suggest young aspiring students to use multimedia packages and equip themselves with technical and non-technical competencies to face the challenges posed by modernization and globalization. As the Vice Principal of the Institution, I feel honored and privileged to be part of an educational institution where every stakeholder is a learner and every day is an opportunity to learn and discover. The department of civil engineering was started in July 2008. An excellent team of teaching and non teaching staff is dedicated in molding brilliant engineers of high caliber. In our department all of our faculty members are UG qualified. The fast changing scenario in civil necessitates the department to actively extend its research and development activity. The department has nine separate laboratories with reference books. The department is constantly modernizing its facilities to itself to the rapidly changing technological scenario.

to import high quality professional training in diploma level with emphasis on basic principles of civil and foster leading edge research in the fast changing field. Profile

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has been a jewel in the crown of our college since its inception in the year 2008. An excellent team of teaching and non teaching staff is dedicated in molding brilliant engineers of high caliber. In our department all of our faculty members are UG qualified. The Mechanical Engineering Department has adequate infrastructure and state-of-the-art technical facilities in addition to a dedicated and well-educated faculty. Most of the faculty members are exposed in their respective fields, which motivated the students to carry out the fundamental studies. To develop entrepreneurial skills and to impart training in latest technologies to students, the department has various facilities. The department has nine separate laboratories with reference books.

The Department of computer engineering started its function and growing with well harmony since 2008. An excellent team of teaching and non teaching staff is dedicated in molding brilliant engineers of high caliber. In our department all of our faculty members are UG qualified. Then it has been hatching talented young engineers who are the pillar for our nation. So far one batch of students has been stepped out with very much potential to get adopted in various working environment. In order to be more competent to equip student’s ability, department lab facilities have been updated with emerging new technical & technological equipments now and then. Keeping in mind that department growth mainly depends on staff stuff, adequate training is given to all the staff members and also knowledge sharing is often taken place among the staff communities those who attended various faculty developments programs held at various colleges. Students Activities

Sports

We provide ample scope and facilities for the students for active participation in sports and games. Play grounds with all facilities are available for the students. Students of our Institution are participating in divisional and inter divisional (State Level) sports and games and coming out with flying colours. All the students are advised to take active part in sports and games.

Fitness Centre

For students to stay fit and healthy, all hostels are equipped with gym and fitness centre facilities - treadmill, exercise bikes and more of the latest fitness equipment. The central gym for men at JPC is also equipped with body building equipment. All gyms and fitness centers are open both in the morning and evening hours for students access.

N S S

The N.S.S unit of the Institution function with a view to develop social activities in student life by way of rendering all sorts of service to the downtrodden living in rural areas, slums etc., The students construct roads and drains, impart adult education, improve environment and carry out activities in a scientific and technological way.

Admission Procedures

Regular

Admission to the Polytechnic College for three year Full time Diploma Course is done strictly on the basis of marks scored in the SSLC examination and as per the reservation policy of the Government of Tamil Nadu for BC, MBC, SC & ST and management quota candidates

Lateral Entry

Direct Admission to the second year of the course is also made for those who have passed the Higher Secondary Course (Academic and vocational). Admission under this category is restricted to 20% of the regular intake of students ( 10% for academic and 10% for vocational streams ). Here too the admission is made on the basis of merit and the reservation policy of the State Government.
